“Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.”  (Matthew 28:1 NKJ) As it began to dawn, Mary Magdalene came to the sepulcher.  She could not wait.  That which her heart hungered and thirsted for, lay in a tomb.  With great boldness she stood at the sepulcher. The Disciples had all left the scene.  Some people found it hard to stand by Christ while He was alive. Yet she stood by Him in life and in His death, faithful, though all others had fled.

Her desire was not for the angelic; her search was for the Christ.  If Christ is your one and only love and your heart has ruled out all rivals, you will not long lack the presence of His company in your life. Let our hearts be like hers in that she loved much. Arouse us Lord, to that same intensity of affection, so that our hearts may be satisfied with nothing short of being filled with your presence.
